AVON DICKIE
Avon started his apprenticeship in commercial construction in 1994, completing two years mainly working with tilt panel construction, and giving Avon an enduring love for concrete in all of its forms. Avon then moved into architectural construction, and for the next 9 years worked in Canterbury on many exciting projects for various architects, completing his apprenticeship and going on to become a foreman successfully running challenging projects.
In 2005 we started Avon Dickie Construction with the intention of quietly building a brand based on quality projects, built for great clients and architects, and with the long term goal of becoming recognised as one of the premium architectural builders in Canterbury.
KATE O’KEEFE
Kate is our longest serving (and most suffering) member of the team. Getting dragged out of her role as an apprenticeship training officer in the printing industry to help run the administration side of the business, Kate's level head and ability to get along with everyone has proven invaluable since she joined the team full time back in 2011.
ALEX HINCHEY
Alex is our “More than just a Quantity Surveyor”, Quantity Surveyor. Along with pricing jobs for the business, his calm efficiency is highly regarded by our staff and customers alike. Alex takes care of many aspects of site administration for the guys at the coalface, helping to keep things running smoothly. He definitely understands the team dynamic of a business like ours, and never mentions the words “that’s not my job”, often going over and above for clients and our builders to help get things done.
THE REAL DO-ERS !
As we have said before, the biggest part of our success is the people at the coalface. The guys out on the cold rainy mornings in the trenches, or finishing off concrete late on a Friday evening when it “just won’t go off! ”.
The guys who put every bit of their hearts into delivering a perfect job for their particular client.
We know that our guys take their jobs every bit as seriously as we do and love to deliver outstanding results time after time.
From our most experienced Foreman, to our youngest apprentice, we are confident that our team represents some of the best craftsmen (or craftsmen in training) that you will find, and along with that are all genuinely “really nice guys.”
